Description: |
The Montessori Learning Centre is a non-denominational, private school. It was opened in Ajax in 1988. Two previous locations were 403 Kingston Road, and 77 Randall Drive (St. George’s Anglican Church). The Principal is Camilla Graziani M.C.I. (Montessori Centre International). We are an associate member in good standing, of the CCMA (The Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators.)
The school offers three academic programs: Toddlers (18months–3 years), Casa (3-6 years) and Elementary(6-12 years) with some overlap.
The Elementary programme is further divided into an intermediate class for students aged 5-7 years and a senior class for 8-12 years. Only students attending on a full time basis can be enrolled in the Elementary programme. Any early moves from the Casa to the Elementary depend on a student’s readiness, to be determined by the school after consultation with parents.
Full-day students will be provided with lunch as specified on weekly posted menus as part of the full-day fees. Mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks should be provided by parents. We do not serve peanuts or nut products, and request that if for any reason your child brings food to school these items are not included.
We have the very best teachers who are all qualified for their positions: Montessori (A.M.I., T.M.I., St. Nicholas/MCI), Ontario Certified, Early Childhood Specialists. Some have been teaching here at the school since its’ beginning. We also have teacher aides, thus ensuring an excellent student-teacher ratio. The school has collected criminal record checks on teachers and all individuals coming into regular contact with students. We are in full compliance with Ontario law. We regularly review the updates sent to us by the Ontario College of Teachers regarding the status of its members and also review the OCT public register with reference to any new teachers or possible candidates for our school. All of our teachers who are registered with the OCT are members in good standing. |
