The JVL Summer School for Performing Arts invites young and aspiring musicians to participate in the unique course of the Summer School. The course offers its participants a wonderful opportunity to combine their intensive music studies and concert performances with recreational activities. The JVL Summer School for Performing Arts committed to the artistic development of young musicians of all ages by providing students with intensive, highly professional training with the emphasis on chamber music, ensemble and orchestral playing as well as instrumental workshops, private lessons and seminars under the tutelage of a distinguished faculty. At the core of the program lies a commitment to strengthening the musicality of each student and awakening his or her musical responsiveness. Individual spirit and artistry are nourished, and ensemble and performance provide valuable social and artistic experiences and forces enthusiasm and perseverance.
The JVL SSPA Music Program is being held at the Canadore College in beautiful and picturesque North Bay on Lake Nipissing, approximately 3,5 hours drive from Toronto and offers the opportunity to take part in intensive musical training in a comfortable and stimulating atmosphere. It also provides the opportunity for parents who wishes to accompany their children (under the age of ten mandatory) to have very relaxing holidays and at the same time to observe and participate in various activities.
Three to four hours daily are designated to recreational activities. The Education Centre Gymnasium is available for activities ncluding basketball, broomball, volleyball, soccer, floor hockey, and adminton. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, the Education Centre is located on 700 acres of natural woodland. Right outside your door you’ll find 12 km of trails for walking, hiking and cycling. There is a Ping-Pong table, television and movies in common area of the Residence office.
Open to students of all ages. Parent or Guardian must accompany children under the age of 10.
