I must agree with the previous writer. When we look for small schools we look for small classrooms and great attention. In theory it sounds good, children learn from each other but poorly directed children give poor direction to other children.
This school is just for a bunch of spoiled children.
Here during my observation in the middle of my child's academic y ear, the children were bullying each other and the teacher was busy with one of the 24 children in the classroom. She did NOTHING.
My child is intimidated. One child hit her and said that if she told anyone she will be in trouble. Another child stabbed the other in the hand with a pencil and not much happened to the bully.
They gang up during lunch hour and bully. Staff are not in control. They are not pro active. They wait unti things get totally out of hand.
They are not much better than "street kid" level of human interaction as staff are quite arbitrary about when they will do something.
Parents of bullies love this school as their children not only prosper but do academically better as well. Many of the aggressive chidren are bright and bad behaviour is tolerated perhaps otherwise the owner wont make any money? Not sure why such poor standards are supported.
Academically it is uneven. Overall the Montessori style is not for the creative person, or for the person with vision or forward looking concepts. Montessori programme was designed for children of poor families who were looking for bottom end jobs. So they teach math, reading and they do some nature and a little science but education is much more than that.
There are many better private schools around... This school is good for reading and math for some kids. But if your child is at all creative, I would stay a mile away. If your child is shy or timid, stay clear.

Taddlcreek Montessori school good for bullies and aggressive children, January 30, 2008

As with every school, there are many parents who are quite happy with school. Taddlecreek is a school where some good children do wonderfully but others do very poorly and the average suffer considerably. Bullying is a constant factor and teachers are not able to find adequate strategies to stop the bullies.
Several people have kept records and diaries and after pure frustration have left.
Staff are sweet and nice but really most are not able to handle problems. Even though they have a weekly letter, compared with other private schools the school is dull.
Average Parents find out too late that their children learned very little after spending so much money. Not so average parents, even after they bring attention to staff, find that staff mostly deny and stonewall. There are a couple of good teachers in the school but overall in my view the school is catered to the few parents who have a great say in the school. Will be taking my child out at the end of the year but the challenge remains where should I take her. Possibly to Palmerston's gifted programme.
