The Toronto Montessori Institute is one of North America’s leading centres for the training of Montessori teachers and ongoing research into childhood development. The Institute has provided thousands of Montessori teachers for schools all over the world. Celebrating Our 35th Anniversary of helping students become successful Montessori teachers.
TMI offers teacher-training courses for each level of Montessori education, in several formats: daytime; evening and weekend; and summer. Each course consists of lectures on the theoretical foundations of Montessori education and demonstrations of developmental materials. Each course requires academic classes, practice with materials, observation, teaching practice, material making and album preparation. Graduates are qualified to teach children in a Montessori classroom at the age level specified in the course outline.
