Description: |
For over 28 years, the Scarborough Outdoor Education School has specialized in Environmental and Outdoor Education with over 7000 students visiting between September and June each year. The school is owned and operated by the Toronto District School Board and is located in a wilderness setting 30 minutes northeast of Huntsville on the western border of Algonquin Park. Our site encompasses 400 hectares of beautiful rolling hardwood and coniferous forests and includes 3 pristine lakes in the Canadian Shield country. The immediate waterfront is a very private, sandy beach. Facilities include 3 residences with all amenities, some out cabins, dining hall and indoor activity areas. We specialize in fun and adventure in a safe and positive atmosphere. All programs are staffed by full time, professional outdoor educators who can truly open up a sense of wonder and adventure in our natural world. Staff have current swimming, lifesaving and first aid qualifications. Again this year we are pleased to offer summer programs for campers from ages 8-18 years. Your child will take home some lasting memories from a safe and healthy atmosphere. |
