The Ukrainian Academy of Dance was founded 22 years ago by Mrs. Danovia Stefura, who was passionate about creating a professional environment for Ukrainian dance training, and creating a dance company that proudly toured the world. The Academy has trained over 1500 dancers since 1987, and produced Arkan Dance Company, a senior semi-professional performing ensemble that has entertained over half a million people world-wide.
The Academy boasts one of the finest collections of ethnographically-diverse
costumes from Ukraine, many collected while the director traversed on foot through over a hundred villages in Ukraine during several folkloric research trips.

Preparatory classes are offered for ages 3 & 4 in Creative Movement. Ukrainian classes begin for age 4 & 5 if the dancer is ready. All ages and levels are available, with the upper levels by audition only (Voloshky and Junior Arkan Apprentices). Arkan Dance Company is admissible only by audition.
