YRSA is both a recreational and competitive figure skating club, serving both the local and skating community. Our club includes skaters from 2 years of age up to 65, girls and boys at all levels. We operate 5 - 7 days a week, 12 months a year.
Our program is multifaceted, Learn To Skate, Teen Skate, Power Skate, Adult Skate and all levels of the competitive stream.
YRSA's LEARN TO SKATE program teaches young children to skate the 'right way'. No skating ability is required and the program is recommended for the children three years and up. Children younger than 3 years may be accepted upon consideration.
The PRE-SCHOOL program is offered for children from 2 - 5 years old. The main goal is to make the children feel comfortable on the ice, learn the basic skills of skating and have fun.
The TEEN skate program is recreational program for those 12 years and older. It is designed to teach the fundamentals of figure skating and provide the participants with fun and fitness.
The ADULT skate program accommodates adults at all levels of skating and designed for fun, fitness and socializing.
Where numbers warrant program, YRSA also offers a Power Skate program. The program is for skaters 8 to 15 years and already have the fundamental skating skills.
In each of these program, skaters are divided by age and skating ability into groups of a maximum size of 8. Each group is taught by a certified professional coach and may be assisted by a Program Assistant where necessary.
