The Thornhill Park Tennis Club is a seasonal, four-hardcourt outdoor facility, located near Yonge & Centre streets in Thornhill, Ontario.
The Thornhill Park Tennis Club reflects well the fact that tennis can be played life-long. We have traditionally provided children with a wide variety of junior activities from private lessons, the very successful weekly camps, competitive teams and lessons to casual recreational play times. We sincerely hope that you will bring your children out to our supervised activities in order for them to love the outdoors, fitness and tennis.
CLINICS FOR JUNIORS (6-9, 10-13, & 14-17 YRS)
Starting as an “After-School” program, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 4:00-6:00 pm, Intensive Junior Clinics will be available for Beginner to Intermediate players. On Saturdays, the clinic runs from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Court 1. The clinics will continue through the summer months at these same times. The cost is $70 per 4-week session.
SMASH TENNIS ACADEMY
Josh will run the “Smash Tennis Academy” for young tournament players from 4 – 6 pm, Monday to Thursday all season. These will be run in conjunction on 2 or 3 courts, depending on numbers.
SATURDAY MORNING INTER-CLUB TEAM FOR ADVANCED JUNIORS
The Thornhill Park Tennis Club will be represented in the Saturday morning inter-club league (9:30 AM to 11:30 AM). The season begins on Saturday, May 3rd and ends in early July. Parents will be responsible for transportation when the team is playing at other clubs. The team will be represented by juniors, aged under 12, 14, 16, and 18. Coaching will be provided to the team members.
SUMMER CAMPS (FULL-DAY OR HALF-DAY) – 6 certified instructors
Tennis Camp is an ideal opportunity for kids from beginner to advanced level players to get involved in a fun and healthy activity, one that could last a lifetime!
The afternoon camp includes tennis and swimming at the Thornhill Pool, located just 200 feet from our club (lifeguards on duty).
Single day participation is available subject to prior arrangement and space availability. Racquets are available if needed. Camps will focus on tennis - though lots of fun, pizza Fridays, & option to swim in the afternoons are all on the agenda.
JUNIOR AND INTERMEDIATE LADDER & TOURNAMENT
Junior ladders will be up this year -ask our Pro for details.
The Club tournament for Juniors is set for mid-July. Watch the bulletin board for registration in June!
JUNIOR ROUND ROBIN
Drop-in supervised tennis available to children on many Saturday mornings from 9:30am-11:30am. |
